Well, apart from the part in the article saying that she accompanied herself on guitar, if you look to the right of the article you’ll see a part which says ‘instruments – vocals, guitar’. Also, search for janisjoplin in google, the website that comes up after the wikipedia article , photos, gallery one, theres a picture of her with a guitar on the end So no, kisses, you’re wrong.

Janis could go from sitting on a couch talking to **** Cavett to blowing the lid off in ten seconds. I don’t know of any performer who could throw themselves in to the music as fast as Janis. Because of the music bidness today, the performers are all following scripts set out by their handlers. We won’t see another Janis, Freddy Mercury, etc.

@leroy33100 So instead we should praise a recovered drug user and drunk who lied us into an unnecessary war that has cost us the lives over 4,000 young men and women, put us billions of dollars in debt, and destroyed our moral standing in the world?? I would love to go back to that time. The politics were just as disgusting as they are now, but the music was a hell of a lot better.

It makes me sad that this god blessed talent was wasted so early, and we were robbed out of one of the bests by people who sell their soul for the buck and produce and sell drugs not caring about the harm they cause. There is a woman here who would deserve long life for what she was giving to others!

in regards to janis, you have to understand that sometimes people turn to drugs because of internal and emotional pain they have suffred in their lives, that even once they get famous and such, that doesnt magically make the pain go away, money and fame cant buy happiness and fix old wounds, even with money and fame, the person could still be hurting on the inside, the money simply makes it easir for them to get their vice :/
